Over four months in and the end is finally in sight with a relief due in the next port. It has been a hectic and at times miserable four months but a lot has been achieved and quiet frankly most of it, especially April is a blur. The blur has partly been brought on by work but some, I must admit, has been brought on by Cider.
Things are starting to settle down now we have finally left home waters and are finally making the Atlantic Crossing to the states. It is quiet nice knowing we have a proper passage to do with well over 3000nm to cover in the coming 10 days. I really enjoy passages like this, the air is so clear and fresh and there is nothing else around for miles, it is certainly peaceful.
In many ways I joined the ship at the wrong time as I got all the build up to the deployment and then I go home. I am pleased that I am going next port though as the last four months have really taken it out of me and there is far to much flag waving coming up in the next few ports for my liking, give me the gulf any day.
Well I will soon be home and I will have a summer leave to look forward to for once. I really hope the weather is suitable for BBQs and Picnics as if it is I think a great time will be had.
